The Afternoon Emailers
Isn’t email the grossest? It’s that drug that you hate taking, but can’t help yourself.
On average people check their email 15 times per day. Almost 92% of employees suffer from elevated blood pressure and heart rate while checking email at work.
What’s worse, email can really impede us from deep thinking and meaningful work. But it’s so hard to break the habit.
So what better way than to rely on a group to help us get over the withdrawal symptoms in great solidarity?
We’ve created a group of academics who have chosen not to look at their email in the morning.
“You get a dopamine hit when you check our email; that’s the feel-good factor of email and why we get addicted to it. In 2022, I am trying to go on a dopamine detox. I will only check my email after noon”.
